My first company was Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI, now Subaru).From here, I was to spend the rest of my life in the aerospace industry.
 
　 I have been involved in aviation-related business for 30 years at FHI (Subaru), whose predecessor was Nakajima Aircraft Company, and during those 30 years I was able to be involved in the aircraft development projects twice as a project manager. I also spent three years as a resident representative of FHI in BAe in the UK, four years as the Director-International Business and the Director-International Aerospace Exhibition Secretariat at the Society of Japanese Aerospace Companies, eight years at the headquarters of the FHI Labor Union, five years at an overseas specialized trading company, and as a hobby, I have acquired national qualifications as a private pilot and an aviation radio operator, and have also studied aircraft operation and management.
 
  Through my various experiences, I have grasped the current status of the aerospace industry in Japan and the world, and have looked at Japanese industry and corporate management comprihensively. This way of thinking about what to aim for, who to sell to, and how to formulate a management strategy is commonplace in foreign companies, but what about Japanese companies? I feel that there are very few companies that are running their businesses based on this new way of thinking. On the other hand, I see many foreign students working hard at overseas companies, after having completed compulsory education in English, four years of specialized education at universities, and several months of internship classes.　We cannot change the past, but we can create the future. Even in the pandemic of COVID-19 infections, there are companies that are steadily making preparations and aiming for a rocket start when the economy recovers again.
